2020 Golf Classic
MBAA and MBAF would like to thank our sponsors, supporters, and golfers for making this year's golf outing a success. We did not let COVID dampen our spirits and we continued our tradition of awarding cash and training scholarships to our next generation of business aviation professionals. The weather was great, the Hawk Hollow staff was excellent to work with, and our supporters donated their time and money to make the day special. It was great seeing everyone and we're excited to begin planning for our 2021 events! Please click below to learn more about our 2020 scholarship winners. |

2018 Annual Meeting and Legislative Day
On Wednesday, March 14, the Michigan Business Aviation Association held our Annual Meeting and Legislative Luncheon. The event was a great success with over 90 in attendance including MBAA and MAAE members, friends of aviation and legislators joining us!
We were also joined by several guests, including Senator Jim Marleau who spoke about Senate Bills 626 and 627, legislation he introduced regarding the regulation of seaplanes. Our second speaker of the day was Mike Trout, Director of the MDOT Office of Aeronautics, who explained to the group the efficiency and effectiveness of MDOT owned aircraft. Lt. Governor Brian Calley was also able to join us. He discussed jobs, road funding and how to help Michigan succeed.
A special thank you to Christa Lucas, Vice President of Government Affairs, NBAA, for her comments, time, and work with NBAA on behalf of local and regional groups. MBAA is fortunate to have such a strong partnership on the National level.
After Christa finished, Bob Quinn, Central Region Representative, NBAA, shared a few words with the group, stating that there is not another organization that focuses on advocacy the way MBAA does, and that we have truly developed a pathway.
Representative Wayne Schmidt also attended the meeting and presented Rich Belisle with the House Resolution 270 of 2018, declaring March 12-18, 2018 Aviation Week in the state of Michigan.
Steve Young, MBAA Lobbyist, GCSI, was our last speaker of the day. He encouraged members to continue to push for our bills, House Bills 4350 and 4351, and to remind their Senators to vote in support of the bills.
Thank you to our many speakers, as well as our sponsors, MAAE and Executive Jet Management, for the great lunch.

MBAA thanks WMU and Bombardier for a great event. It would not have been possible without the efforts of students and staff at WMU or the sponsorship and support of Bombardier. It was great having the Lear 75 onsite and even better was the strong attendance and student participation. We look forward to next year.
